Since 1984 the Chapter has been the backbone of YPA’s movement. These Chapters are made up of a body of young people who are elected and/or appointed to be responsible for activities such as:     

•  facilitating weekly Chapter meetings;
• addressing youth, school and community issues;
• organizing community based activities and events;
• organizing students to be a part of our school based training sessions;
• hosting political screenings and candidate nights; fund raising and community outreach;
• organizing travel; (both domestic and abroad)
• attending City Council, School Board and other political meetings;
• volunteering for voter registration;
• Recruiting membership & youth networking;
• disseminating information & other resources.
• and much, much more!

YPA has created for you a road map to success in leadership, but it is important to
understand that  leadership is not  organizing events, or addressing issues, or getting good grades. True leadership is “developing the leader within”. All of the other things are what leaders do. Developing a keen and accurate knowledge of Self and God is the true key to leadership and we believe that “Self improvement, is the basis for community development”.  If we can develop self then all other  aspects of life are  properly addressed with a deeper cause and understanding. Through these leaders and the chapters they serve, we will be able to create environments that promote healthy lifestyles, free of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, and other risky behaviors.
